Frustrating experience with SkillsFuture course

On Oct 6, I attended an IT course from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

At the end of the course, the class of mostly seniors were told that the SkillsFuture Credit claim had to be submitted that night.

All of us were taken aback and confused. Many frantically attempted to do the submission.

I tried to submit my claim online when I returned home, but the website was "under maintenance".

I tried again the next day, but received a message stating that the claim could be submitted only 60 days before or on the start date of the course.

We were not informed of this beforehand.

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) has told me that my claim is not valid, even though the website was under maintenance when I tried to submit it.

I was advised to contact the training provider to make a separate arrangement for a refund, and that SSG would not be a party to enforce such an arrangement.

It is frustrating that so much time and procedures are required to claim my credits.

Another issue is that the SkillsFuture website is very confusing to navigate.

There is one table listing the courses and another listing the centres providing the courses (in tiny unreadable font). These two tables should be consolidated into one.

There is also no information on claim details or procedure.

The experience has put me off attending other courses or recommending my friends to take courses.
