Some time ago, I noticed a small bag left unattended on a seat at Changi Airport.
I deliberated within myself on whether I should report it to the authorities. Maybe the owner would come back for it, and I would end up looking like a fool for having made a report, I thought to myself.
I decided to err on the side of caution and report it to the authorities, than be worried about being embarrassed.
I pointed the unattended bag out to a police officer. I'm glad I did, though I don't know what happened after that, as I left soon after I alerted the authorities.
In the light of the Bangkok bombing ("Bomb blast in Bangkok kills at least 16"; Aug 18), we have to be more concerned with security and safety, rather than the possibility of raising a false alarm.
