Air-conditioned places don't have to be so cold

In malls, trains and buses, air-conditioners are set to a rather low temperature.

Many people often wear jackets in these places, even when the weather is scorching hot outdoors.

Perhaps it is time for mall owners and transport providers to consider adjusting the thermostats in their malls, buses and trains, as this will help mitigate the effects of global warming ("World experiencing hottest year to date"; April 21).

It is also time for each of us to consider how we can make a significant effort in the fight against global warming.

One step we can take is to adjust air-con thermostats to 25 deg C in our homes.
