SINGAPORE - Former OCBC Bank chairman Lee Seng Wee has died, aged 85.

He passed away peacefully last Friday, according to an OCBC spokeswoman.

Mr Lee sustained a head injury during a fall and was brought to the Singapore General Hospital, where neurosurgery was performed, Channel News Asia reported, adding he died of complications arising from the fall.

A private service with cremation was held on Saturday, in accordance with his wishes.

Mr Lee leaves behind his wife, three children and four grandchildren.

His family requests to mourn in private and no wreaths or condolences.

Donations can instead be made to the National Neuroscience Institute's Health Research Endowment Fund.

The family also expresses its gratitude to Drs Chumpon Chan, June Goh and Ng Wai Hoe and all doctors, nurses and staff of the Neurosurgical operating theatre and Neurosciences intensive care unit of the Singapore General Hospital.
