Shortly after the United States said it would ban entry to Chinese carriers beginning on June 16, China said it was allowing foreign airlines, including American ones, to resume weekly flights halted amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Given the timing of Thursday's announcement, it would appear that Beijing is quietly walking back on yet another tiff with Washington over aviation but in reality, the decision had been weeks in the making.
