SINGAPORE - While Clarke Quay shots bar Chupitos was bursting with patrons on Friday (April 22) and Saturday, it was hard not to notice the empty units surrounding the lively venue.

The first weekend of nightlife reopening in Singapore after a two-year hiatus saw nightlife hot spots like Clarke Quay buzzing. But the revival took place amid the hollowed out remains of venues lost to the pandemic.
