Decals more practical for private-hire cars

For easy identification, decals will be more practical for private-hire cars ("Have separate number series for private-hire cars" by Mr Yeo Tiong Lin; Aug 30).
A separate registration series may lead to confusion, as not all Singaporeans are able to distinguish between normal and private-hire cars.
Unsuspecting users would be at risk if would-be criminals used a fake number series to commit crimes.
Most importantly, decals will be more prominent and should be fitted only by authorised workshops.
