Zuma ordered to pay back millions to state

JOHANNESBURG • South Africa's top court yesterday ordered President Jacob Zuma to pay back some of the US$16 million (S$21 million) of state money spent upgrading his private home, in a stinging rebuke that has hit the scandal-plagued leader.

Acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid dies

LONDON • R enowned architect Zaha Hadid has died of a heart attack at the age of 65, the BBC reported. Ms Hadid, the first woman to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, was known for pushing the boundaries of design. Her first high-rise residential project in Singapore was d'Leedon in King's Road.
