Suspect charged over van attack at mosque

LONDON • A man suspected of driving a van into a crowd of Muslim worshippers leaving a mosque in London has been charged with terrorism-related murder and attempted murder, British police said yesterday.

Darren Osborne, 47, is accused of ploughing the rented vehicle into the group at Finsbury Park on Monday morning. One man died at the scene and 11 others were injured.

Depp jokes about assassination

GLASTONBURY (England) • Actor Johnny Depp courted controversy at Britain's Glastonbury music festival with a joke about assassinating Mr Donald Trump, pondering how long it had been since an actor had killed an American president.

"It is just a question, I'm not insinuating anything... When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?" he asked the audience, in a possible reference to actor John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated president Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
