Russia probes cause of fatal plane crash

MOSCOW • Emergency workers in Russia searched snow-covered fields outside Moscow yesterday, looking for body fragments and clues after a plane crash a day earlier killed all 71 people on board.

President Vladimir Putin has ordered a special commission to investigate what caused the AN-148 plane operated by Saratov Airlines to crash. Among the possible causes investigators are looking into are weather, human error and the plane's technical condition.


Horse and carriage for Harry and bride

LONDON • A horse-drawn carriage will take Prince Harry and his American bride Meghan Markle down Windsor's main street after they marry in the town's castle in May, Kensington Palace said on Sunday.

A reception will be held in St George's Hall. Later that evening, Harry's father Prince Charles will host another reception for the couple and their close friends and family.


Iranian President in India this week

TEHERAN • Iran's President Hassan Rouhani will visit India this week for three days, local media reported yesterday.

Mr Rouhani, who was invited by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, is due to leave on Thursday. He will discuss the latest regional and global developments, ISNA news agency said.
