Search for 2 escaped lions in Kenya capital

NAIROBI• • Wildlife rangers yesterday hunted for two lions which escaped from Nairobi's national park and meandered into "highly populated" areas of the Kenyan capital.

Spread over 117 sq km where buffalos and rhinos roam, the park is just 7km from the bustling high-rise city centre. The big cats are under growing pressure as one of Africa's fastest- growing cities creeps onto ancient migration routes and hunting grounds.

Fast rail link between central Paris, airport

PARIS• • France yesterday said it will build a high-speed rail link between central Paris and the Charles de Gaulle airport, ending decades of fruitless discussion on easing access to Europe's second-biggest airport. The CDG Express is to be completed by 2023, the government said in an announcement in the Official Journal, on a budget of €1.6 billion (S$2.5 billion).
