Malaysian police conduct overnight searches at 2 of former PM Najib Razak's residences
Police teams conducted searches at two residences of former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday night (May 16), with the operation stretching well into Thursday morning.
Police cars and a police truck were seen outside the house in Taman Duta, about 2km away from the royal palace, from around 10.15pm. The truck, also called a Black Maria, is mainly used by the Malaysian police to transport detainees.
Police officers also searched Mr Najib's condominium in downtown Kuala Lumpur.
Trump says 'we'll see' on North Korea summit, to insist on denuclearisation
US President Donald Trump acknowledged on Wednesday (May 16) it was unclear if his summit with North Korea would go ahead after Pyongyang threatened to pull out of the unprecedented meeting, a move that could deny him a potentially major foreign policy achievement.
North Korea threw the June 12 summit between its leader Kim Jong Un and Trump into doubt on Wednesday, saying it might not attend if Washington continues to demand it unilaterally abandon its nuclear arsenal.
North Korea also called off talks with South Korea scheduled for Wednesday, blaming US-South Korean military exercises.
Cambridge Analytica shared data with Russia: Whistleblower
Political consulting group Cambridge Analytica used Russian researchers and shared data with companies linked to Russian intelligence, a whistleblower told a congressional hearing on interference in the 2016 US election Wednesday (May 16).
Christopher Wylie, who leaked information on the British-based firm's hijacking of data on millions of Facebook users, told a Senate panel he believes Russian intelligence services had access to data harvested by the consultancy.
Wylie told the panel that Russian-American researcher Aleksandr Kogan, who created an application to harvest Facebook user profile data, was working at the same time on Russian-funded projects, including "behavioral research".
Trump discloses payment to attorney who paid off porn star
President Donald Trump has formally disclosed that he reimbursed his personal attorney more than US$100,000 (S$134,000) last year, apparently in connection with the payment of hush money to a porn star, government records show.
The disclosures, released Wednesday (May 16) by the US government ethics body, do not specify the reason for the payments to Michael Cohen, who paid US$130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in the run-up to the 2016 election.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims she had a tryst with Trump in 2006 while he was married. The president denies the affair, and initially denied all knowledge of the payment, which Cohen has acknowledged was intended to stop her from going public with the allegations.

Antoine Griezmann was the hero for Atletico Madrid as the French striker scored twice in their 3-0 win over Marseille in Wednesday's (May 16) Europa League final in Lyon, allowing his club to win the trophy for the third time in nine seasons.
It is Griezmann's first major title as an Atletico player, and a fitting way to bow out if he leaves at the season's end, with Barcelona tipped as his next destination.
Griezmann - brought up in Macon, just 70 kilometres from Lyon - scored once in each half, his lethal finishes coming either side of Marseille losing Dimitri Payet to injury, the French team's captain coming off in tears.
