Cosby, 78, did not enter a plea in the courtroom in Elkins Park, also in the Philadelphia area, a court clerk said. Bail was set at US$1 million (S$1.42 million), which Cosby posted, and a hearing was set for Jan 14.

Cosby, wearing a black and white hooded sweater, was stone-faced as he entered and exited the court through a media scrum.

Trump spokeswoman criticised over bullet necklace, threatens to wear a foetus next time

Donald Trump's national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson stunned watchers of US news channel CNN by wearing a necklace made out of bullets, and followed up criticism on social media by tweeting that an aborted foetus could be next, say reports.

"Surely @KatrinaPierson wore bullet necklace on #CNN to bring attention to 90 Americans fatally shot daily #gunsense," Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America tweeted to her nearly 13,000 followers.

To this, Pierson replied on Wednesday: "Maybe I'll wear a fetus next time & bring awareness to 50 million aborted people that will never (get) to be on Twitter."

Football: Cesc Fabregas going nowhere, says Chelsea's Hiddink

Guus Hiddink says Cesc Fabregas is happy at Chelsea amid speculation he could soon be the subject of a big-money bid from Italian clubs.

The Spain midfielder has been linked with both Juventus and Inter Milan following a poor half to the season at the Premier League champions, whose fall from grace has been well-documented.

But Hiddink, interim manager until the end of the season following Jose Mourinho's sacking, gave no indication that Chelsea would sell, and that the player himself seemed content.
