UK lawmakers in crucial Brexit debate

British lawmakers will today have their first full parliamentary debate on the legislation that will sever the country's ties with the European Union. The main opposition Labour Party is planning to propose several changes to Prime Minister Theresa May's EU repeal Bill, which will pave the way for a new legal system to replace EU laws. Labour says ministers should be handed the power to revise aspects of EU law without full parliamentary scrutiny.

PM Lee to host Jokowi at retreat

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will host Indonesian President Joko Widodo at a Leaders' Retreat in Singapore today, as their two countries mark 50 years of bilateral ties.

Diplomatic relations between Singapore and Indonesia were established on Sept 7, 1967.

A highlight of the retreat is a fly-past by fighter jets from Singapore and Indonesia.

ECB to announce interest rate policy

The European Central Bank (ECB) will announce its latest interest rate policy decision today following a meeting of its governing council.

Economists also expect the ECB to give more information on how it intends to unwind its large-scale bond-buying programme.
