Modi leaves for meeting with Putin

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi flies to Russia for an informal summit with President Vladimir Putin in Sochi today.

The Modi-Putin summit is taking place under the shadow of the growing friendship between Moscow and Islamabad, much to the discomfort of New Delhi. Reports in the media have suggested that Pakistan was keen on defence purchases from Russia.


Singapore Pools marks its 50th year

Singapore Pools will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a dinner today.

As the country's only legal lottery and sports betting operator, Singapore Pools will be showcasing its contributions in the community at the event, among other highlights.

Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat is the guest of honour.


Business Times leaders' forum kicks off

The Business Times Leaders' Forum 2018 will take place this morning at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. This annual event will host about 250 participants, comprising C-suite business leaders, policymakers and government officials. Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing is the guest of honour and keynote speaker. Mr Liew Mun Leong, chairman of Surbana Jurong and Changi Airport Group, is the event's special speaker.
