Arab states to discuss embassy attack

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) of Gulf Arab states will hold an extraordinary meeting in Riyadh today to discuss the repercussions of the attack on the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Teheran and the Saudi consulate in the Iranian city of Mashhad. The GCC consists of six member states - Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Only Qatar and Oman have not taken any diplomatic action against Iran.

SkillsFuture roadshow in Jurong

The Singapore Workforce Development Agency is holding its first SkillsFuture Credit roadshow today at Westgate in Jurong. The roadshow will have booths where visitors can learn about the courses available, as well as speak to a number of training providers.

China inflation figures out today

China's National Bureau of Statistics will release its year-on-year inflation figures for December today, a gauge of consumption and growth in a nation whose economy is grappling with a slowdown. The consumer price index - a main gauge of inflation - rose 1.5 per cent in November from a year ago, edging up from October's 1.3 per cent. Economists are expecting the index to remain stable in December at 1.5 per cent.
