Abbas to address UN Security Council

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will address the United Nations Security Council today, a first by the Palestinian leader.

He is expected to denounce United States President Donald Trump's decision to move the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

But Mr Abbas can expect a swift and forceful response from US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, a staunch proponent of the move who has already defended it before the world body.


Getai acts at River Hongbao

Visitors to the River Hongbao event at The Float @ Marina Bay can enjoy performances from getai singers this evening.

The second day of the Getai Night programme, from 8pm to 10pm, features singers such as Michelle Choo, Yuan Jin, Anddi Goh and Angel Law, as well as Malaysian performers.

The River Hongbao event is open from 2pm to 11pm daily until Saturday.


Feedback session on Budget

Government feedback unit Reach will be holding a Budget 2018 Conversation this evening to engage Singaporeans on Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat's announcements in his Budget speech. The session will be chaired by Senior Minister of State for Law and Finance Indranee Rajah and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office and Foreign Affairs and Manpower Sam Tan, who is also Reach chairman.
