New premises for Club Heal

Club Heal, a voluntary welfare organisation that helps people with mental illness, will officially open its new premises in Marsiling today. Located at the void deck of Block 317, Woodlands Street 31, the centre provides psychiatric day rehabilitative services for those who are recovering, as well as other services such as case management and counselling. Club Heal also aims to create a community that is more accepting towards mental health conditions.


Obama, Merkel to discuss refugee crisis

United States President Barack Obama will discuss the Syrian refugee crisis with German Chancellor Angela Merkel tomorrow.

He is set to applaud Dr Merkel for her efforts to absorb Syrian refugees, even at great political cost. He will also pledge US support for the recent deal that the European Union made with Turkey to accept Syrian migrants.


EU finance meeting ends today

European Union finance ministers, who meet once a month to discuss issues concerning economic policy and the financial sector, will conclude their Amsterdam meeting today.

The two-day meeting has discussed complex issues without taking any immediate decisions on topics such as capping EU banks' sovereign debt exposure. It also mulled over a crackdown on banks' offshore tax advisers after the Panama Papers scandal.
