The symbolic Doomsday Clock, a measure of mankind’s proximity to global catastrophe, has been moved 30 seconds closer to the end of humanity.
While the clock takes into account nuclear risk, climate change and emerging technologies, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists focused on the nuclear landscape in its statement this year, setting the clock at two minutes to midnight.
