CARACAS(AFP) - Venezuela's acting President Nicolas Maduro will be formally proclaimed on Monday the winner of the election to succeed late leader Hugo Chavez, the government said, despite opposition demands for a recount.
"Today, everybody accompany Nicolas Maduro at the proclamation event with our president-elect," Information Minister Ernesto Villegas wrote on Twitter, calling for people to gather in a Caracas square at 2pm. (2.30am Singapore time).
