US aims at N. Korea diplomats, cash transfers in sanctions

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - The United States on Tuesday called on the UN Security Council to pass new nuclear sanctions against North Korea that would for the first time target the isolated state's diplomats and cash transfers.

US ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said China had agreed on the proposed new sanctions, adding that she hopes for a vote by the 15-member council this week.
