Trump to unveil China tariff list

US President Donald Trump's administration is set to unveil today a revised list of Chinese goods that will be subject to higher tariffs. According to some people familiar with the revisions, the list would be slightly smaller than originally planned, but others said the goods targeted in the new list would still amount to almost US$50 billion (S$67 billion), with about 1,300 product categories.


Event on health and going green

The three-day Green & Healthy Festival, organised by Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation, will begin today at the Singapore Expo Hall 4B. The festival provides retailers, distributors, restaurants, and environmental and health activists a unique opportunity to engage with consumers who are health-and environment-conscious. Net proceeds from sales will go towards Kampung Senang beneficiaries and educational activities.


French, Italian leaders to meet in Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will have a lunch meeting in Paris today as the two leaders seek to defuse a diplomatic row. Rome had summoned the French ambassador over Mr Macron's criticism of its decision to reject a migrant ship and cancelled a meeting between the country's economy ministers. However, tensions seem to have ebbed after a phone call between Mr Macron and Mr Conte on Wednesday night.
