United States President Donald Trump is to announce his Supreme Court pick today at 9am Singapore time, an intensely anticipated decision that opposition Democrats say will likely push the bench rightward with explosive implications for the country.

Mr Trump's choice will dramatically affect many aspects of American life, from abortion to voting rights to immigration.

Experts share ideas on liveable cities

The ongoing World Cities Summit features experts in discussions to explore how cities can be more liveable through better governance and planning, technology and social innovations.

About 20,000 participants from 100 countries are expected at the event at Marina Bay Sands, which is being held this week, until Thursday.

Special Asean meet on climate action

Singapore will convene the first Special Asean Ministerial Meeting on Climate Action (Samca) and the Expanded-Samca today in its capacity as Asean Chair 2018.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from the 10 Asean member states, the Asean Plus Three countries - China, Japan and South Korea - and Asean Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi.
