(REUTERS) - The walking dead are off their feet - and pushing the pedals for Key West's annual Zombie Bike Ride.

It may look like the zombie apocalypse with over 8,000 ghoulish participants hitting the pavement... but Floridians took it all in stride.

They're celebrating the first weekend of Key West's annual Fantasy Fest, where visitors typically flock to the beach town for a carnival of costumes.

As for the Zombies, they bled all the way to the famed Duval Street - where some tricks and treats awaited.
