Trump faces a divided House in the new year

Gridlocks over issues and internal party tensions will continue to plague Capitol Hill

After two years of a Republican majority in the House and Senate, United States President Donald Trump will have to deal with a Democrat-led House come Jan 3.

Among the top priorities for the House on Jan 3 will be a vote for Speaker - most likely to be veteran Nancy Pelosi - and a funding Bill to end a partial federal government shutdown, which by then would have lasted almost two weeks.
