Taxation, healthcare in focus during US Democratic debates

Left-wing policies dominate, likely leaving centrists in a bind

Twenty Democratic presidential candidates vied for their party's nomination over two nights of debates in Florida, but it was mostly policies from the left that set the tone rather than the personalities of the front runners.

The frequency with which ideas from the left wing of the party were debated and supported on Wednesday and Thursday showed that the Democratic Party is moving left.
