(REUTERS) - He's not your average pup, but this robot from Google's Boston Dynamics is one lean machine.
It's name is Spot. The four legged robotic dog can climb stairs, walk on unpaved terrain and can even withstand an unexpected blow.
The bot is powered by a system of hydraulic pumps and valves.
Weighing 160 pounds, Spot is smaller than some of Boston Dynamics' other creations - specifically,Big Dog, the company's 240-pound all-terrain robot.
But this mechanical pup is no lapdog. Spot was designed by the company specifically for search and rescue operations.
