Quad grouping tests waters with maritime tracking

WASHINGTON - The four-nation Quad whose leaders met in Tokyo this week looks quietly set to get its feet wet.

The most notable outcome of the meeting on Tuesday (May 24) of the leaders of India, Japan, the United States and Australia was a new "maritime domain awareness initiative" that in effect pools satellite data for more effective eyes on the oceans.
