MIAMI - Minutes before crashing into a truck, a Miami woman sent a text message to her boyfriend that read "Driving drunk woo".

Mila Dago, then 22, did not die in the Aug 14, 2013, accident, but the passenger travelling with her, 22-year-old Irina Reinoso, did.

Dago's text messages came to light on Thursday as prosecutors released new evidence in the DUI manslaughter case against her.

The Miami Herald reported that Dago was in the midst of a break-up with her boyfriend, and shot off a string of angry messages to his phone while having a night out at clubs. Among the texts were "You'll be the death of me", "I'm done you ruined me" and "I'll be dead thanks to you".

Three minutes after her last message, "Lata", she beat a red light at 4.44am and crashed her rented smart car into a moving truck.

Reinoso was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. The two had only been friends for two months.

Dago had "an odour of alcohol" coming from her and had a blood alcohol level of more than double the legal limit, blood tests showed.

She was arrested in January 2014 and has been out on bail since.
