In less than two weeks since taking her seat in the house, Bronx-born Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, at 29 the youngest congresswoman ever, has elicited some of the sharpest reactions to a freshly minted representative on Capitol Hill - out of proportion, many analysts say, to her age and inexperience.

The strongest focus is not on her age, her middle-class background nor her Puerto Rican descent - though all have been raised, ridiculed, challenged or alluded to.
