LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A double-decker tourist bus crashed into cars and construction scaffolding in downtown San Francisco on Friday (Nov 13), leaving at least 19 people injured, authorities and news reports said.
Fifteen people were hospitalized, with four of them in critical condition, an official with the city fire department told AFP.
The bus was moving at high speed when it hit a cyclist and then rammed into cars and scaffolding in Union Square, in the heart of the city, according to the news website www.sfgate.com.
Around 30 people were riding on the bus at the time.
Police have launched an investigation, but the fire department official said it was not immediately known what went wrong.
