China's pick for UN drug chief may bridge East and West

With China's clout as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, former Hong Kong police chief Andy Tsang Wai Hung may be set to become the first Asian to head the UN's Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Mr Tsang, 61, is preceded by his tough cop reputation - he is known for his work busting Chinese triads. He also oversaw the Hong Kong police during the 2014 Occupy Central protests.
