China is US' biggest and most strategic trade target

In his bid to reform global trade to America's advantage, United States President Donald Trump is fighting on multiple fronts, including with America's allies. But the biggest and most strategic target is China.

The US' deficit with China last year was US$375 billion (S$507 billion) - almost half of America's total global trade deficit. Targeting China for better terms, if successful, could thus address much of the US' overall trade imbalance.
