BOSTON (Reuters) -Demonstrators came out to Boston's Copley Square in solidarity for the Syrian people, raising their voices and demanding the United States take in more Syrian refugees.

During a visit to Germany on Sunday, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the US would take in 15,000 more refugees from around the world next year, increasing the current level to 85,000.

Most of the migrants have been fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Syria itself has seen some four years of civil war.
