WASHINGTON - The abrupt firing or resignation on Tuesday (Sept 10) - depending on who you believe - of the United States' famously mustachioed and notoriously hawkish National Security Adviser John Bolton, came as a shock but not necessarily a surprise.
In the short term, fears of edging into a new war overseas - as remains a worry in the case of Iran - may be temporarily eased somewhat by Mr Bolton's departure.
