KIEV (AFP) - Ukraine's freed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel "very soon", her party said on Sunday after the two spoke over the phone.

"They agreed to a meeting that could take place very soon", her Batkivshchyna party said in a statement, a day after Tymoshenko was released in the latest twist in a three-month crisis gripping the country.
