A monument to Mikhail Kalashnikov - designer of the AK-47 rifle that has become the world's most common assault weapon - was unveiled on Tuesday in Moscow. The bronze statue depicts Kalashnikov, who died in 2013 at age 94, holding one of his weapons in his arms "like a violin", according to Russian state television.
