LONDON (AFP) - Third in line to the throne, weighing 8 lbs 6 oz (3.8kg) and sparking 25,300 tweets a minute - here is a rundown of Britain's royal baby in numbers.

- 4.24pm: The exact time that Prince William's wife Kate gave birth to her son on Monday.

- THIRD IN LINE: The baby prince, whose name has not yet been announced, will be third in line to the British throne. Grandfather Prince Charles is direct heir to current monarch Queen Elizabeth II, followed by William. The birth pushes William's brother Prince Harry down to fourth in line.

- 8 LBS 6 OZ: The baby's weight at birth.

- GRANDSON NO. 1: The prince is the first grandchild for Charles and for Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. Prince Charles's wife Camilla, William's stepmother, already has five grandchildren. The baby is Queen Elizabeth II's third great-grandchild.
