Syria opposition urges Qusayr humanitarian corridor

BEIRUT (AFP) - Syria's opposition on Wednesday called on the international community to establish a humanitarian corridor to help the town of Qusayr, where a fierce battle between regime troops and rebels is raging.

"We call on the international community to open a humanitarian corridor to rescue the wounded and take in medicine and assistance to 50,000 besieged people," acting National Coalition chief George Sabra said in a statement.
