SpaceX Dragon cargo capsule released from ISS

The SpaceX Dragon capsule is released from the International Space Station and is heading back to Earth with 3,800 pounds (1,724kg) of cargo.

SPACE (REUTERS) - The SpaceX Dragon capsule was released from the International Space Station and is heading back to Earth with about 1,723kg of cargo.

Splash down was expected in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday (Sept 17).

Recovery forces will retrieve the capsule containing cargo and research that focuses on biological and technological studies.

According to Nasa, Dragon is the only spacecraft able to return to Earth still intact.
