WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The alleged shooter at the United States Navy Yard in Washington has been "contained," a US Navy official said, adding that several people had died and several others were injured.

The Washington Post, citing police sources, said that there were three shooters, including one in military fatigues, involved in the shooting.

The naval official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, added that the total number of victims from the shooting was unclear.
