Russia's Gazprom proposes signing gas deal with China in May

MOSCOW (REUTERS) - Russia's top natural gas producer Gazprom said on Wednesday that it had proposed signing a major supply deal with China when President Vladimir Putin visits the country next May.

State-controlled Gazprom said in a statement that Chief Executive Officer Alexei Miller made the proposal at a meeting in Beijing with Zhou Jiping, the chairman of China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC).
