SOCHI, Russia (AFP) - The two best known members of Russian punk group Pussy Riot were released on Tuesday from a police station after their arrest earlier in Sochi, host city of the Winter Olympics, an AFP correspondent said.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina walked free after being questioned about an alleged theft from a hotel.

The half a dozen others arrested with them have also been allowed to go free.
