Prince Harry to keep his clothes on: US governor

NEW YORK (AFP) - When Prince Harry visits the United States this May he'll have to keep his clothes on - at least while he's in New Jersey, the state's governor said.

Mr Christie, a blunt-talking, heavy-girthed Republican, said he'll make sure the party-loving British royal doesn't repeat his naked Las Vegas antics that got him into hot water during his last US trip.

"I am going to spend the entire day with Prince Harry. Believe me, no one is going to be getting naked," Mr Christie told New Jersey 101.5 radio late Monday.

Prince Harry found himself at the centre of a tabloid frenzy when nude photographs of him with an unidentified woman were published, in what resembled a game of strip billiards.

His upcoming US tour is heavily focused on charity and wounded veterans. In New Jersey he is planning to see areas hit by Hurricane Sandy.

Mr Christie said he was "thrilled" that Prince Harry would visit the state and underlined that Queen Elizabeth II can "trust her beloved grandson with the governor of the state of New Jersey." The Jersey Shore, renowned for beaches and drunken partying depicted in a long-running MTV reality series, will be looking forward to the summer after being pounded in the October hurricane.
