Portugal PM says ready to work with opposition

LISBON (AFP) - Portugal's Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho said on Friday he was ready to work with the opposition to jointly face the bailed-out nation's economic challenges.

Two days after surviving a crisis that nearly toppled his two-party, centre-right coalition, the premier told parliament he was open to cooperating with the opposition "to respond to the challenge posed to us all."
