SINGAPORE – Prime Minister Lawrence Wong spoke with incoming US President Donald Trump over the phone on Nov 18, congratulating him on

his victory in the recent election.

“The US-Singapore partnership is strong and dynamic, built on a deep reservoir of mutual trust and shared interests,” PM Wong wrote in a Facebook post after the call. The Prime Minister, who is currently at the Group of 20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, added that he looks forward to working with Trump and his team to deepen bilateral ties.

On Nov 19, PM Wong also posted a photo of himself meeting outgoing US President Joe Biden a day earlier.

In the post on social media platform X, he thanked Mr Biden for his strong support of American engagement in the region, and the close partnership between Singapore and the US.

PM Wong also met French President Emmanuel Macron on Nov 18. In a separate post on X, he said it is always good to chat with Mr Macron, and that he looks forward to welcoming the French President to Singapore.
