KIEV (AFP) - Over 10,000 Ukrainian protesters on Wednesday filled Independence Square in central Kiev in defiance of the storming of their protest camp by anti-riot police, an AFP correspondent said.

Instead of dispersing, the numbers of protesters swelled after the police action and dozens formed human walls to prevent more riot police from entering the square from adjoining roads.
