Saudi crown prince on Britain visit

Saudi Arabia's crown prince visits Britain from today to woo investors by persuading them that "shock" reforms have made his country a more tolerant society and a better place to invest. But the severity and secrecy of an anti-corruption crackdown has alarmed some investors. Prince Mohammed bin Salman is also expected to face questioning over the humanitarian situation in Yemen because of the Saudi military's leading role in the conflict.


President Halimah to launch Job Week

President Halimah Yacob, who is also Chief Scout of the Singapore Scout Association, will be launching the annual Job Week today at the Istana. During this week, scouts go door to door looking for jobs in residences and offices. In return, they will receive donations for their association.


Bank Negara to hold policy meeting

Malaysia's central bank will hold a policy meeting today. Inflation eased to 2.7 per cent in January, down sharply from 3.5 per cent in December. This suggests that Bank Negara is likely to keep the overnight policy rate at 3.25 per cent even though growth momentum has been strong.
