New Gaza strategy a double-edged sword

Tens of thousands of Palestinians followed the call to demonstrate on the border with Israel on Friday. At least 15 died and hundreds were injured, most of them from inhaling tear gas.

The event was supposed to kick off a 45-day campaign of protests. The danger that this could lead to more violence is enormous, even though war is something neither Hamas nor Israel wants at present.
