A little more than a month since unidentified gunmen attacked a military parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz, the area is still simmering with tensions brought upon it by the ghastly events of that day, coupled with a lack of empathy for the inhabitants, specially Arabs, by the authorities.

The attack in Ahvaz, the capital of south-western Khuzestan province, on Sept 22 killed at least 25 people - a dozen members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and civilians, including a young boy.
